Legacy costs for current and retired employees.
More cost sharing in health insurance. Set up 401's for current employees and eliminate pensions.
Large fines and probation for white collar.
Lengthy terms for violent offenders.
Our judges are too lenient.
Open "non-partisan" meetings. Vote what's right for the people and not strictly along party lines.
You pay for what you get- no higher or lower than county employees, percentage wise.

Would need to examine each one separately and work in conjunction with other commissioners.
Social services- better monitoring and verification of family needs.
Working much closer with your individual city so awareness of current financial situations doesn’t come as a surprise. City officials welcome their county commissioner in budgetary discussions.

Our economy has not improved as much as we would like to think. It will continue to be a challenge to keep communities solvent and departments functioning well within budget constraints.
Again, it will be the state and financial allowances that will guide how we procede. As the body that manages the finances, we commissioners will need to have a strong understanding of statutes and needs that direct our government.
I would like to improve pre trial services with Macomb County Community Corrections. I would also support and expand specialty courts that include the drug, sobriety, and veterans courts.
It is extremely important that the Commissioners and the Executive respect and know the roles each play in the government. This division of power provides for a balanced and just government.
It is not necessary at this time.
Community Mental Health needs to enhance their role in substance abuse prevention and treatment through out the community. I do not believe I need to educate many on the need to expand this.
I would need to delve into programs very thoroughly before recommending any cuts.
I would recommend more state dollars go to mental health and senior services at this time.
The role of the county commissioners is to assist the treasurer with tax collection.
I support the RTA, but I am wary of the new proposal cost and what the real outcomes will be.
I support all avenues of transparency within financial reason.
Not at this time.
Education is a state mandated and funded issue, I support whatever the county can do to assist the state within reason.
I do believe that law enforcement is doing good job at this time in Macomb, but we can always do better.
The county is to assist the County Treasurer with tax collection.
With proper screening, I am in favor of accepting refugees.
I am in favor of programs that create jobs for low income residents that will improve their lives.
I am in favor of programs that assist all efforts to improve job development.
I recommend expanding inspections on all infrastructures and requiring regular repair and replacement preventing the failure of that infrastructure.
I doubt I will be invited but would be honored if I am.
